1. My period cramps get so bad that I'm on a schedule-one or -two muscle relaxant for them. (Drugs listed as being on a schedule are, as my mother the nursing student so eloquently puts it, "pain killers that could possibly mess you up." It goes one through five; schedule-one stuff isn't too dangerous but still has more bite than your average drugs, and schedule-five stuff is illegal.) Thankfully, I only cramp on my first day.

2. I watched graphic medical shows as a small child, as well as the more traditional programming like Barney and Sesame Street. Perhaps this answers some of the questions you were afraid to ask.

3. My sister ( *DoomyDooms ) and I are jointly subscribed to Seventeen and Cosmopolitan, yet we never follow any of the fashion advice either magazine offers. We don't use Cosmo's sex tips either, for obvious reasons. (We still get a kick out of those kinds of articles, though. XD)

4. The Lion King was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. I was four, going on five, at the time. My mom tells me that I couldn't stop talking about "pretty Nala" for days. (She is my favorite Disney princess.)

5. I am the owner of a rat tumor in a jar and the skulls of a ground squirrel and a sparrow. The squirrel skull's name is Moe.

6. I fancy myself a pro-peace person, but I have a raging military fetish. I think most men (and some women, though I am straight) in any sort of military getup are just so damned sexy.

7. I went through a girly-girl phase in my prepubescent years, but I've always hated the color baby pink.

8. I love the smell of coffee but abhor the taste. I do love tea and Perrier, though, and drink both almost literally by the gallon.

The trip up to Joshua Tree wasn't all that bad. It felt more like half an hour than the two hours it really was. And the Perseids! oh, how wonderful! The meteors put on quite a show. I do so love getting out of the city and closer to nature.

Rancho Mirage was fun. The water slide was even cooler than I remembered it; it required mats, unlike last time, which made the ride smoother and faster. You got even more speed if you folded your mat in half. The lifeguard the evening we got there gave us the "turbo" option; she held the water back until a bunch had accumulated and then let it all go behind the rider. The lifeguard last time also did that.

And what perfect weather for swimming. It was hotter than Hades! Triple digits in the daytime, 80s-90s at night (same with Joshua Tree). I was a ninny and didn't wear sunblock... and now I've got a burn on my upper back and shoulders. Nothing bad, but a burn's a burn. @__@

Remember how I said I no longer wanted to buy pets other than fish from the pet store from now on? Well, eh... I kinda lied. I was at a small pet store a week or so ago and my sister and I fell in love with a dwarf hamster that wasn't evil! Hell, the whole lot of them were pretty friendly (and neurotic). I put my arm in the cage and they started crawling all over me but didn't nibble. I'm paranoid of critters that nibble fingers. .__. Anywho, our new hamster is named Truffle and she's a little sweetie. She lives in a cage in my sister's closet. Dark and warm for her.

In Neopets news, I am now the owner of Capsaicin the fire Eyrie. The name was free and demanded use. Looks like Xenon's training will be on hold for a little while until I scrape together some more funds.
